The new Bliss Paper Pack from Close to my Heart is perfect for wedding themed projects, but would also be lovely for scrapbooking vintage photos. I love the way the neutral colors blend together with soft romantic patterns. Neutrals like these are a great choice when scrapbooking photos without prominent colors that you want to highlight. Notice the subtle use of sparkles in these projects; the stick on bling adds the final touch.

The flower on this card was stamped, cut out, and then sponged on the edges to make it pop. You can curl up the edes of petals to give them more dimension.

Make a custom guestbook out of a mini scrapbook. You can even go back in later and add photos of each guest from the event.

Bright Flowers Happy Birthday Card

Chipboard dimensional elements are wonderfully versatile. For this card, we covered dimensional elements flowers with paper, and also stamped & sponged some of them (center circles) to create a coordinated look.

To cover with paper, first trace the shape onto the back of your paper. Cut out the design with scissors, and adhere it to the chipboard shape. Next, use sand paper or finishing files to sand any edges of the paper down to mold them to the sides of the chipboard.

To stamp or sponge chipboard elements, remember that the ink will appear darker on chipboard than on paper. So choose a lighter shade, or stamp off on a scratch paper, and then onto the chipboard to get a second generation lighter shade from the same ink pad.

Leaf Blessing Card

The “Rock ‘n Roll’ technique works great with leaf stamps to give a blended multi colored look. For this card, clear embossing was added to give the leaf a little more drama.

For a lighter center with dark edges:
First ink the stamp with with the lighter shade. Then roll the edges of the inked stamp on the pad of a darker coordinating color, being careful not to ink the entire image. Finally stamp the image onto your paper to reveal the blending of the two colors.

For a darker center with light edges:
First ink the stamp with with the lighter shade. Stamp the entire image on your paper. Next ink the stamp with the darker shade, and roll the edges of the stamp on a scratch paper to remove some of the ink. Finally stamp the darker image over the ligher stamped image to add the darker center.

Mistletoe Tree Trio Card

Even when you don’t have a stamp set to make a focal point for a particular theme, the right paper can save the day. On this card, the tress were cut out of coloed and popped up with foam tape to create a quick, easy and adorable focal point.

Tip: For a quick and easy way to create the worn, exposeed edges on cardstock, use an edge distresser. To get this effect, make sure you are using cardstock with a white core like all of the cardstock carried by CTMH.

Olivia Treasures Card

This 6×6 any occasion card features the striking Olivia paper set from CTMH with the simple silhouettes from the Treasure Life Stamp set.

Tip: When tying knots on ribbon, first adhere on both sides a single untied piece of ribbon for the entire length of the card. Second, cut a second piece of ribbon and tie a simple knot around the ribbon first piece. Cut the ends on the second piece of ribbon to desired length. This will allow you to adjust the knot by sliding it to the perfect spot on the ribbon.
